The celebration will kick off on Saturday July 1 from 1:00-4:00 at Camp Ch-Yo-Ca.
The campgrounds, including the pool, will be open for you to enjoy and reminisce about your time at camp. Please take advantage of the day and see how God has blessed the efforts of so many who have dedicated their time to camp.
Check out the new road and tennis court, the two new lodges, the completely remodeled pool and craft shed, and the addition of the porches and new roofs on all eleven cabins. Stop by the country store for a snack and sit a while in a swing. Life guards will be on duty so feel free to let your kids enjoy the pool while you walk the grounds.
Then join us at the West Monroe Convention Center for the true celebration. The doors will open at 5:30 for visiting (in the air conditioning), looking at camp memorabilia and the silent auction. The dinner and program will start at 6:30. The program will end at 9:00.
In order for us to make plans for this fun event, registration is required. Early registration begins now and will close on June 1. Tickets are $30.00 for adults and $25.00 for children. Children under four are free. Late registration: adults $40.00. This price includes the evening meal.
After dinner there will be a campfire devotional back out at camp led by Rick Fortenberry beginning at 10:00. It will be over at 11:00.
A special Sunday morning service will be at WFR church with worship at 9:00 and class at 10:15.
There are several hotels in the West Monroe Area with a variety of room rates. See the list below. This is not a comprehensive list. Please be advised to call and reserve a room as soon as you know you are coming. We will not house people at camp as camp will be in session.
If you need help with housing, WFR has agreed to help match people with church members. Please call Beverly Dobbs at 318 396 6000 if you need assistance with that.
Our goal, during this 50 th year, is to raise funds to retire the camp debt and remodel both the girls and boys bathhouse. We know this is a lofty goal, but no goal, with God is lofty. He has carried our “100 acres of holy” through good times and bad. He will not let us down. Plans are being made now to fund raise for the debt retirement, but we are asking for your help for the bathhouses. If just twenty campers from each of the 50 years donated $200 each, we would have enough funds to remodel the bathhouses. Please consider helping us with the project. Fifty years in bathhouse life is a long time! You are welcome to donate today or wait until the reunion to bless camp.
Please help us get the word out by inviting all of your camp friends! We can’t possibly have the contact information for everyone in 50 years, but you can help us by emailing your friends or contacting them through other social media connections. Our leader and original director, Lloyd Williams, as well as directors Buddy Barwick, Howard Karbo, Mike Kellett, Alan Robertson, Willie Robertson, Chrys Howard and, of course, all the current directing staff, who were former campers, will all be there and we want to see YOU! Mike Kellett has agreed to lead us in songs through the decades; we’ll look at a video put together for this special night; and many of your favorites will have a few words to say about one of the most influential places in the world—Camp Ch-Yo- Ca. Also, as we appreciate and celebrate our past, we want you to hear our plans for the future.
If you have any further questions please contact Chrys Howard at 318-680- 9142 or email@example.com
