Selah: Kaitlyn Colliver

Life vs Death By:Kaitlyn Colliver Wednesday

Psalm 1:1-2

1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.

Reread these verses aloud. Write down the words/ phrases that stick out to you the most.

What does it mean to be blessed by God?
In what ways are you allowing wickedness and ungodliness in your
life?

The word meditate means to think deeply or focus one’s mind for a period of time, why is it SO important to read and meditate on God’s word?

Challenge: Make it a goal to set aside time to meditate on God’s
word daily

Psalm 1:3

Life vs Death
  Thursday

3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither, whatever they do prospers.

Take a few minutes and close your eyes. Began to place yourself into this verse.

What is this verse saying?
What does it mean to prosper? Have you experienced that?

When you are in the word, you yield fruit in season. What fruit do you bear?

Spend the next couple of minutes being still. Open your mind and heart to what God is speaking to you.

Psalm 1:4

Life vs Death
    Friday

4Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.

When you hear the word wicked what do you think of?
What is the harm of being independent and not relying on God?
How can you be dependent on God?

Reflect on what you have learned this past week. Ask God to reveal any wickedness in you and how to live in the fullness of God.

Psalm 1:5

Life vs Death
  Saturday

5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

What do you think it means to be righteous?
What separates the unrighteous from righteous?

Think of one person you know that is the sinner in the assembly of righteousness. Take a minute to write out a prayer specifically for that one person.

Is there any wickedness in your heart, if so what is it. Give it to God right now and repent.

Psalm 1:6

Life vs Death
    Monday

6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

Who are examples of righteousness in your life?
How can you prevent destruction?
Why do we need God’s protection and provision?
How does God protect you in your day to day life?

As you begin to finish your selah, go to God in prayer thanking him for always watching over you.

Psalm 1

Life vs Death
   Tuesday

1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. 3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither, whatever they do prospers.4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. 6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

What did you learn this week?

Two paths were revealed throughout this scripture, the path of the wicked, and the path of righteousness. Which do you see yourself on and where do you want to be?

Are you meditating on his law day and night? Romans 12:2 says “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Has God’s word changed your life?

What are you taking away from this week?

Spend the rest of your time talking to God. Tell him how you feel and do not hold anything back.
