Hello Camp Family!

Fall has arrived and we’ve actually had some fall weather days!  The leaves and pine needles are falling to the ground at Ch-Yo-Ca and we’ve already hosted the Middle School Retreat.  This time of year always brings to mind our blessings, after all Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and a huge part of camp every summer is letting our campers receive a blessing from us.  We are intentional about it, telling campers words of truth and life to strengthen their spirits.  It blesses them and it blesses us.

My daughter recently turned 16.  We decided to have a time of blessing for her instead of just a birthday party.  Friends and family gathered (at camp of course) to worship God around the campfire and to speak life into Callie; to say to her, “May God bless you, we are proud of your faith and we see a future for you.”  God did this for his own son in Matthew 3:17.  Scripture says, “And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”  The best part of this idea of bestowing a blessing is that we don’t have to wait for birthdays or holidays to do so!  We can speak words of life every day – in the morning and at bedtime and anytime in between.  Gather your family up today and speak words of life and blessing into each one.  “I am proud of you!”  “I see your effort!  I know you can do it!” “God has plans for you for a hope and a future!”

You might be in need of a blessing yourself right now.  I offer these wonderful words from the book of Numbers when the Lord asked Moses to have Aaron bless his people:  “May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”  We are so thankful for you, for all of our camp families!  We pray for you and your children and want the very best of God’s richest blessings for you.  Happy Thanksgiving friends!

Blessings from Ch-Yo-Ca,
