Hey camp friends!!!
We are definitely on the countdown now!
We’ve had a few workdays at camp and the camp grounds are looking pretty sharp. The summer staff is hired and sitting on ready for the opening bell to ring. The Bible directors are busy preparing the Bible material, keeping in mind all the precious kids it will affect this summer. The kitchen staff is reviewing menus and ordering food. The directors are working in every area to ensure this summer is over the top with fun and faith-filled activities. And many, many camp friends are praying for your child as they walk through the gates of our 100 acres of holy!
As I was driving out to camp this other day, my mind raced back to my first year at camp. I had just finished my eighth grade year of school. I had a full mouth of the heavy metal braces worn in the sixties as well as horn-rimmed brown glasses. Needless to say, my confidence level hovered around 0. But, at camp I encountered God in the flesh. There were people who loved me for me. There were bible teachers reassuring me that God loves me more than any human and, following Him would lead to a life of filled with God-adventures and love. There was a quiet spirit of peace at the lake and campfire that I had never known. Everyone’s journey down what used to be a dusty camp road is different, but our desire is that everyone’s is filled with love. Mine certainly was and still is.
If your child isn’t registered yet, don’t delay!! The sessions are filling up fast and we don’t want to miss anyone!
If you have any questions, please ask. If not, we’ll see you soon under the bell or at the box at Camp Ch-Yo-Ca!
