After following rules and regulations provided by the CDC, we tested our summer staff on Tuesday, June 2. On June 5, it was found that one out of our fifty-five summer staff members tested positive for COVID-19. She was immediately quarantined and quickly left camp for her home.
Following the recommendations of top health care officials in our area, we have decided to cancel all of our June sessions.
Fortunately, similar to other summers camps in our situation, we will be able to return for our July sessions.
Staff will be returning after twenty one day quarantine and restricted social distancing period. All staff will be required to have two negative COVID-19 tests before returning to camp.
Our overnight July schedule is as followed:
High School 2 – July 5-12
Junior 2 – July 12-17
Middle School 2 – July 19-24
Our day camp July Schedule is as followed:
Day Camp C – July 13-17
Day Camp D – July 20-24
Day Camp E – July 27-31
While we are saddened, we are not dismayed. We, as a team, still feel strongly that campers need to have the life-changing experience of Camp Ch-Yo-Ca now more than ever. Our mission is always the same, to build a summer camp experience where campers can grow closer to each other and Christ.
We hope to see you in July,
John Luke, Carrie, Chrys, and the entire camp staff
